The Steam version of Papers, Please supports Steam trading cards since July 4, 2014. There are eight cards in the series, and they appear as standard and foil versions, the latter being rarer. The player can receive four cards at random by purchasing and playing Papers, Please on Steam. To acquire a full set, cards have to be traded with other users. When the user has collected all of the cards, they can craft them into a badge.

Papers, Please (like all Steam games that support trading cards) has six badges: 5 levels of the standard badge, and the foil badge. They are all based on the logo of the labor lottery used in Arstotzka. The foil badge can only be crafted once while crafting the standard badge will give the player an upgraded version, up to the fifth level. Crafting badges also grants experience towards Steam levels.
